SMART CITY INFRASTRUCTURE FUND ACQUIRES SELETTRA, ITALY’S SECOND-LARGEST SMART STREETLIGHTING COMPANY

PATRIZIA, through its Smart City Infrastructure Fund, acquires Selettra S.p.A, a leading Italian smart streetlighting company, marking SCIF’s second investment in Europe and Italy.

Following the recent acquisition of Ottima, SCIF re-invests in the Italian smart streetlighting space, creating a EUR 180 million portfolio in the country. Selettra is one of the leading smart streetlighting companies by the number of LPs managed, with a particular focus in southern Italy.

Selettra is focused in participating to public tenders and winning concession contracts, as well as assembling the LED streetlight technology in the finalised products.

CONSTRUCTION OF RANCHO CORDOVA FIBERCITY® COMMENCES

SiFi Networks, North America’s leading privately owned Telecom company has begun construction of its latest FiberCity® project, in Rancho Cordova, California. The network will deliver 10 gigabit enabled speeds to over 75,000 residents and businesses in the city. It will be the fourth city in California to be in active construction of a SiFi Networks’ FiberCity® network. The first customers will be connected to the network in Spring of 2023.

CONSTRUCTION OF SIMI VALLEY FIBERCITY® COMMENCES

SiFi Networks, North America’s leading privately owned Telecom company will start construction next month of its latest FiberCity® project, in Simi Valley, California. The network will deliver 10 gigabit enabled speeds to over 47,000 residents and businesses in the city. It will be the third city in California to be in active construction of a SiFi Networks’ FiberCity® network. The first customers will be connected to the network in Summer 2022.

APG’s STAKE IN SIFI NETWORKS WILL HELP BRING 10Gig CITYWIDE FIBER NETWORKS TO MORE THAN A MILLION HOMES

APG Group NV (“APG”) – acting on behalf of its Dutch pension fund clients – has signed an agreement to strengthen the existing partnership with SiFi Networks America Limited (“SiFi” or the “Company”) by acquiring a 16.7% direct stake in the Company and establishing a joint venture (“Fiber JV”) to rollout open-access fiber-to-the-home (“FTTH”) networks in the US (the “Transaction”). This partnership, including APG’s US$500 million equity commitment to the Fiber JV, will contribute to bridging the digital divide in the US where over one-third of households do not have access to high-speed internet by offering fiber connections to those underserved communities. Whitehelm Capital (“Whitehelm”) will provide asset management services for the joint venture during the roll-out period.

SMART CITY INFRASTRUCTURE FUND CLOSES SECOND FUNDING ROUND WITH CORNERSTONE INVESTOR APG

LONDON/AMSTERDAM - 3 SEPTEMBER 2021. PATRIZIA Infrastructure (formerly Whitehelm Capital) and APG Asset Management N.V. (“APG”), acting on behalf of its pension fund client ABP, are pleased to announce that the Smart City Infrastructure Fund (“SCIF” or the “Fund”) has closed its second funding round, bringing its total fund size to €750 million. SCIF fully committed the initial €250 million of funds from cornerstone investor APG to an exciting range of Smart City enabling infrastructure projects. As a result of this success, APG has confirmed its commitment of a further €500 million to SCIF to continue to invest in Smart City infrastructure opportunities on a global basis.

PLACENTIA FIBERCITY® SET TO LAUNCH

SiFi Networks is set to launch its second West Coast FiberCity® in Placentia CA.

The privately funded citywide fiber network will pass every home and business in Placentia and enable the opportunity to access Smart City applications. Placentia is SiFi’s third FiberCity® and the second one in California.

Construction of the fiber network will commence in June with the entire network expected to be complete in 2023.

SALEM FIBERCITY™ SET TO LAUNCH

The Smart City Infrastructure Fund (“SCIF”), in partnership with SiFi Networks (SiFi), is pleased to announce that it has committed to the roll-out of a FiberCity network in Salem, Massachusetts.   

Construction of the fibre network will commence before the end of the year, with the entire network projected to be complete in 2022. 

Salem is the second city to be funded by SCIF in conjunction with SiFi.  Progress at the first city, Fullerton, is progressing well, with the first customers now being connected. Several more cities are in the pipeline.
